Benefits for employers

An employee who wants to pursue an Executive MBA is ambitious, eager to learn, wants a deeper and holistic understanding of doing business and most of all wants to develop. A person who needs challenges.

Benefits for employers

Supporting an employee through the SSE MBA Executive Format is an investment in both individual development and organizational capability. Participants continue working full-time throughout the program and apply new knowledge directly in their professional roles from the beginning of the program.

Employees continue working throughout the program

Unlike participants in full-time MBA programs, participants in the SSE MBA Executive Format remain employed full-time during their studies. This allows them to apply new perspectives, tools, and frameworks directly in their organization throughout the program.

A flexible format designed for working professionals

The program consists of 10 campus weeks spread over 18 months. The modular structure allows participants and employers to plan ahead and balance studies with professional responsibilities.

MBALive® pedagogy and organizational impact

Through the MBALive® learning approach, participants work on projects connected to real organizations throughout the program. In some cases, these projects may be linked directly to the participant’s employer organization.

Projects can focus on areas such as financial analysis, marketing strategy, organizational development, or business transformation. Participants work closely with peers, faculty, and external stakeholders to develop recommendations and approaches that can support measurable organizational change. Read more about MBALive®.

Development of broader leadership capabilities

Participants develop both professionally and personally throughout the program. The SSE MBA Executive Format strengthens analytical skills, strategic thinking, leadership capabilities, and business understanding across multiple disciplines.

Graduates gain new perspectives, broader networks, and increased confidence to contribute in more strategic roles and complex business contexts.

Access to a broad and international network

Participants represent a wide range of industries, professional roles, nationalities, and academic backgrounds. Collaboration across projects and organizations creates opportunities for long-term professional relationships and exchange of knowledge and experience.

As graduates, participants also become part of the SSE Alumni network and gain access to alumni events and activities. Read more about the participant profile.

How employers can support and benefit from the program

Organizations that actively engage in the participant’s development often gain greater value from the program. Employers can support learning by encouraging participants to connect coursework and projects to real organizational challenges.

Participants may contribute insights and analyses related to areas such as strategy, finance, marketing, or organizational development. Many organizations also choose to create opportunities for participants to share knowledge and reflections with colleagues or management teams after campus weeks.
