Before you apply
The SSE MBA Executive Format is designed for experienced professionals with full-time jobs and ambitious career goals. Completing an Executive MBA requires support from both your employer and your family. Many participants are sponsored by their employer, but it is also possible to finance the program independently.

Reflect on your goals and development
Before discussing the program with your employer, take time to reflect on your current role, future goals, strengths, and development needs. Consider how the program fits into your long-term professional development and prepare a clear case for why the investment will benefit both you and your organization.
It is also valuable to discuss and agree on a shared development plan with your employer before applying.
Connect the program to your organization’s challenges
Review the program modules and courses and consider how they relate to the challenges facing your organization. The SSE MBA Executive Format focuses on applying knowledge directly in practice. Throughout the program, you will work with other participants, SSE faculty, and case sponsors to analyze organizational challenges and develop recommendations that can support measurable change.
Bring new perspectives and knowledge to your organization
During the program, participants complete several live projects connected to real organizations. These projects provide opportunities to apply new knowledge in practice while contributing insights and ideas to your organization. Projects may focus on areas such as financial analysis, marketing strategy, or organizational development.
Many participants also choose to share insights from campus weeks with colleagues or management teams. This can help spread new perspectives, encourage development within the organization, and create opportunities to apply new ways of working.
Be prepared for the time commitment
An Executive MBA requires commitment and careful planning. In addition to campus weeks and scheduled activities, participants spend significant time on self-study and project work outside regular working hours.
The time invested supports both personal development and organizational impact. Before applying, it can be valuable to discuss expectations with your employer and how the organization can benefit from your participation in the program.
