Industry event | Sustainable Labor Practices - 16 Oct 2025

In an era where workforce resilience defines organizational success, companies must rethink how scheduling and staffing choices shape long-term performance. Join us for a seminar that examines the hidden costs of short-term efficiency and offers data-driven pathways to sustainable labor practices. Please register below to secure your seat.

People sustainability - ensuring that work practices support long-term employee outcomes and organizational performance - is becoming a central challenge for businesses. Companies that succeed in this area see gains in retention, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Those that fail risk burnout, absenteeism, and costly turnover.

Yet, despite its importance, many organizations struggle to move from good intentions to effective practices. Scheduling and staffing decisions often emphasize short-term efficiency, while overlooking hidden costs that undermine workforce well-being and operational performance. Even when data is available, it is rarely used systematically to guide better labor practices.

If people sustainability is the key to retention and performance, why do so many firms still struggle with absenteeism and turnover? What hidden costs might current scheduling and staffing practices carry? And how can leaders use data to balance flexibility with stability in their operations?

This seminar will explore why sustainable labor practices remain elusive and how companies can overcome barriers to achieve both healthier workforces and stronger performance. House of Innovation's Assistant Professor Antoaneta Momcheva will present research-driven insights and practical discussions, drawing on a large-scale study of a healthcare organization to show how small, data-driven adjustments to scheduling improved both employee outcomes and operational results.

This event is designed for business leaders, HR professionals, and operations managers who want to combine data-driven insights with sustainable labor practices to strengthen workforce well-being and organizational performance.
