Shift in Business Education
A stable and broad education in business is no longer enough. Consequently, the Bachelor program in Business and Economics at the Stockholm School of Economics has been updated to inlcude courses in Global Challenges.
One program – part of the BSc Business and Economics program will provide tools to understand the challenges that SSE graduates meet in their professional lives, forming the leaders of tomorrow.
Through Global Challenges, our students will acquire a holistic approach and increase their understanding of the broader context. They will train their analytical focus, develop their judgement skills and empathy and will be able to put their studies in business in relation to the great challenges and risks we are facing today.
We want to educate leaders who are aware of global challenges and who will know how to deal with these issues.
Sweden has a proud tradition within sustainability, entrepreneurship and innovation and our intention is to be an example of that. The Global Challenges courses create a way to broaden and develop our education in business so that it may attract a large number of students with various backgrounds.
With Global Challenges we would like to show how the economic dimension is linked to the environmental and social challenges that we face, creating a context that will make the Bachelor program in Business and Economics even more interesting.
Students in their early twenties are open to forming opinions that have an impact throughout their lives.
SSE plays an important role in educating tomorrow's leaders. SSE Alumni hold key positions in the business community, as well as in public organizations, administration, culture and politics and thus play an important role in influencing society.
Thanks to a generous donation from the Global Challenges Foundation, we now have the opportunity to implement these changes.
