Sustainability at SSE

SSE strives to integrate sustainability in all its major operations, divided in the four pillars research, education, campus and outreach. The schools sustainability strategy is thus developed in collaboration between a variety of entities, dedicated faculty, and students.

The sustainability work is led by the executive sustainability group chaired by the SSE President and coordinated by the Sustainable SSE Group chaired by the CFO and followed up on by the SSE Board.

Read about the four sustainability pillars at SSE and find examples of multi-stakeholder initiatives in the spirit of the Agenda 2030 below.

Research (R): generation and dissemination of research on sustainability by SSE departments and institutes, across disciplines and via research partnerships.

Education (E): frameworks, materials and processes built into SSE’s courses and programs in order to equip students with the tools necessary to become responsible leaders.

Campus and operations (C): incorporation of the values of responsible business management into SSE’s own practices, with students and faculty and with external stakeholders.

Outreach (O): wide range of public events and other efforts by SSE staff and researchers to share knowledge, insights, and evolving positions with practitioners and decision-makers.
