SSE monitoring developments following Canvas security incident

The learning platform Canvas was recently affected by a cybersecurity incident that may have involved exposure of some user data. SSE is closely monitoring the situation and staying in ongoing contact with the service provider.
At this stage, there is no confirmed information that SSE or our users have been specifically affected. However, as a precaution, we want to inform you that some basic user information, such as names and email addresses, may potentially have been exposed.
We take this situation seriously and are following our internal procedures to ensure appropriate actions are taken if needed. As a precaution, we encourage everyone to remain vigilant and be attentive to any unusual or suspicious emails.
