Extra job as Research Assistant at the Center for Statecraft and Strategic Communication

The Center for Statecraft and Strategic Communication (CSSC) is hiring a Research Assistant on an hourly basis with start immediately.

About the position

The research assistant (RA) will contribute data collection and fact seeking in the final stages of a multiyear comparative research project about news media ownership in Sweden, France, and the United States. The results will be published as a monograph by a major academic publisher. The RA’s chief task will be to gather information about Swedish news media from publicly available sources. Work will be conducted in close cooperation with senior researchers.

The RA is hired by the Axel and Margaret Ax:son Johnson Foundation for Public Benefit, which funds the research project, and will work under the supervision of CSSC faculty.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is an ambitious and diligent student who seeks to gain valuable experience in preparation for a future career. Advanced proficiency in the Swedish language is a requirement. The candidate has an ability to independently search for information and to present findings in text or tables. Service-mindedness, accuracy, and flexibility are valued attributes, as is basic knowledge about the Swedish news media.

Terms

Employment on an hourly basis (Swedish: timanställning). The hourly wage is 149 SEK, with additional vacation pay (Swedish: semesterersättning). The RA will be ready to work on request starting immediately. Working hours will be flexible and compatible with full-time studies since the working hours will be agreed continuously.
