ABC of theorizing using sociology as an example - 18 Feb 2020

The House of Innovation at Stockholm School of Economics welcomed researchers and students to a seminar with Professor Emeritus Richard Swedberg from Cornell University.

About the seminar:

The emphasis, in discussions of theory, is usually on the end product of a long process, as part an article or a monograph. In theorizing, in contrast, you focus primarily on what happens BEFORE you have a finished theory. What takes place in the so-called context of discovery differs strongly from the theory in the context of presentation. What the non-linear theorizing process looks like will be discussed, as well as are various ways of improving one's skill in theorizing.

There are limited number of seats. If you wish to attend, please register here.

More information about Professor Swedberg is available here.

Lunch and refreshments will be available on-site.

For questions or specific requests, please contact Andrea Nilsson, HOI’s Outreach Manager.

Warm welcome!
