Jonas Dahl's research in media
Articles
He was recently featured in an interview in Svenska dagbladet (SvD) and an article in Chefstidningen. In the interview he shares the findings of his research and what they have meant for him on a personal level, seeing how fear of failure has been a strong driving force in his life, but one that has also been taxing. And we are mistaken when we think that sharing our failures will mean others think less of us, in the right context, mistakes help us grow and learn. "I have become better at handling mine and more tolerant with those of other people", Dahl says.
His research was also referred to in a recent column by Lotta Lundberg, also in SvD, regarding fear of failure on a societal level and how the differences between shame and guilt in society have become muddied nigh into synonymity. But learning to differentiate between the two, and owning up to guilt is a way to take responsibility, whilst separating deed from person. Again, this is a way to transform a source of fear into a source of growth-
if we all contribute to cultivating an open climate where we dare to share our mistakes and failures.
