International Workshop on the Sustainable Development Goals

Welcome to the International Digital Workshop on Sustainable Development Goals on 19-20 October 2023, co-organised by Ranjula Bali Swain and Peter Dobers.

Register to the workshop with your name and affiliation at SDGhandbooks@isdrs.org, deadline 18th October 2023.

Recent calls on the sustainable development goals have asked for transformative action, as incremental and fragmented change is insufficient to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and meet the global climate change challenge. Half-way through Agenda 2030, this International workshop sets out to explore, examine and investigate if these 17 SDGs have been effective in achieving the transformative changes towards sustainable development. It engages in a mid-term assessment of Agenda 2030, identifies the missing aspects of Agenda 2030 and critically evaluates SDGs. The quadruple-helix inter-disciplinary research from across the various continents to present experience and evidence on SDGs is also sourced. The objective is to explore the SDG framework across: goals; targets; indicators; the 5 thematic areas of the SDGs (peace, people, planet, prosperity, partnerships); the 3 dimensions of sustainable development (economic, social, environment); and across various statistical frameworks. The workshop also seeks to investigate SDGs at the thematical, regional and country level and provide examples of possible applications, implications, and best practices. This international workshop brings together experts and researchers from around the globe.
