Possibilities and challenges of sustainable electronics at Elgiganten
The session was divided into three parts, where the students first received a presentation on how Elgiganten works with sustainability both locally and internationally across its stores and brands in several countries. This was followed by a tour of different departments and functions within the store, allowing the students to get hands-on experience of the daily operations. Lastly, a fruitful discussion was held on how Elgiganten could expand its efforts to increase the supply of used electronics.
The workshop covered several key functions of operations in this type of industry and served as a great way of summarizing the purpose of the retail club. Sustainability is more than just making sure to sort your trash correctly; it is about showcasing how it can be used as a tool for expanding businesses in different industries.
A huge thank you to Tony Winkler, Head of Sustainability at Elgiganten, for such an inspiring workshop, but also for sharing your story of long and hard work across various essential functions within Elgiganten.
