Exploring Career Opportunities with ICA
The afternoon started with fika and an opportunity to meet Retail Management alums, who shared their career journeys and reflections on how they ended up in their current roles. The students also had the chance to ask questions about career opportunities, the importance of using one's network, and why it is worth daring to reach out to people in roles you are curious about.
The session then continued with Fredrik Nyberg Fredriksson from HR, who gave insights into ICA's recruitment process. Prior to the visit, the students got to try ICA's recruitment tests, which led to an interesting conversation about how they were experienced, and the role of AI in recruitment.
Finally, the students met Anna Entian who has long experience at ICA, both as an employee and as a manager. She shared reflections on her career journey, leadership lessons, and what has made ICA a meaningful place to work.
One of the key takeaways from the afternoon was the importance of daring to ask questions. Reaching out to people and showing curiosity should not feel intrusive, but rather as a way to learn and stand out. The visit also gave a strong impression of ICA as a workplace where people truly enjoy working. It was a reminder that choosing a career should also be about understanding whether a company can offer an environment where you can grow.
A big thank you to everyone at ICA who contributed to an insightful and inspiring afternoon!
