Although it is tempting to view these as exclusive opposites, he argues for keeping a mindset of "both–and" instead. We need structure and organization to solve tasks and understand our roles, but today we have an excessive focus on this style of leadership, leaving aspects such as proficiency in listening, facilitating discussions and a plurality of perspectives behind as dispensable. Conversely, Blomberg argues that they are more important than ever today in light of a rapidly changing world of technological challenges and opportunities, and swelling organizations.
