As part of the Academic Insight Seminar series, the Center for Security and Resilience (CfSR) invites you to a breakfast seminar on the theme "Civil society resilience during war: Organizing Jewish life and culture in Ukraine after Russia’s full-scale invasion".

The seminar features Noomi Weinryb and Zhanna Kravchenko, who will present insights from the book Civil Society Resilience During War: Organizing Jewish Life and Culture in Ukraine After Russia’s Full-Scale Invasion.

The research examines how Jewish civil society organizations in Ukraine adapted in real time to the shocks of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022. Drawing on contemporaneous data collected across the country, the study highlights how organizations mobilized resources, adapted missions, and sustained communities under extreme uncertainty.

The seminar explores themes such as resource mobilization, legitimacy, accountability, and the role of symbolic practices and networks in enabling resilience. It also sheds light on how organizations navigate crisis through coordination, improvisation, and transnational collaboration.
