Center for Asian Studies (CAS) Policy Talk
This talk will examine the evolving global geoeconomic and geopolitical landscape, marked by increasing complexity and interdependence, and its broader implications for regional stability and development. Within this context, it will present Viet Nam’s strategic vision and development orientation in navigating current and future challenges. The talk will also explore key directions to deepen and expand the Viet Nam–Sweden partnership, contributing to peace, cooperation, and sustainable growth in the new era.
Dr. Phạm Minh Chinh is the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, a position he has held since April 2021. He currently serves as a member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Government’s Party Caucus, Vice Chairman of the Council for National Defence and Security, and an active Deputy of the 15th National Assembly. He also holds senior roles within both the Central Military Commission and the Central Public Security Party Committee.
Prime Minister Chinh is a public servant with extensive experience in security, diplomacy, and governance. He holds advanced degrees including a Doctor of Law and the title of Associate Professor in Security Science. His career spans leadership roles within the Ministry of Public Security, and the Party Central Committee.
