Social entrepreneurship in today's global society

Social entrepreneurship offers innovative solutions to some of the most critical challenges of our time. With this in mind, SSE alumni Pernilla Bard and Caroline Cederlöf started Social Initiative in 2002, pioneering the field of social entrepreneurship in Sweden. In collaboration with companies and philanthropists, Social Initiative supports innovative social entrepreneurs in East Africa, India and Sweden with knowledge and capital. 

One of Social Initiative’s social entrepreneurs is Barbara Mutabazi, business computing scientist from Uganda. She started Women in Technology Uganda to train young women from slum areas in Kampala in IT and entrepreneurship, enabling them to move out of poverty.

We want to welcome you to SSE on March 3 to listen to Barbara Mutabazi tell her story, as well as a thought-provoking conversation about the role of social entrepreneurship in today’s society.
