The Ax:son Johnson Institute for Statecraft and Diplomacy together with the Center for Statecraft and Strategic Communication (CSSC) are pleased to welcome Stephen Kotkin for a lunch lecture at the Army Museum in Stockholm.

One of the world's foremost historians and analysts of international affairs, Kotkin will present a lecture on Middle Power Horizontalism: Can They Rebalance the United States?

The event is intended as an interactive lecture. Following opening remarks by Stephen Kotkin, participants will be invited into a moderated discussion led by Dr. Carl Ritter.

About Stephen Kotkin

Stephen Kotkin is one of the world’s leading historians of Russia and the Soviet Union. He is the Kleinheinz Senior Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution and a professor of history and international affairs emeritus at Princeton University. Internationally acclaimed for his landmark multi-volume biography of Joseph Stalin, Kotkin is also a prominent commentator on geopolitics, authoritarianism, and great-power competition. Combining deep archival scholarship with sharp contemporary analysis, he is widely sought after for his insights into Russia, China, the United States, and the changing global order.
