As a first step towards Wellbeing Growth in Stockholm we have created and measured a Wellbeing Index among people living in Stockholm. The results are presented in our newly released Stockholm Wellbeing Index Report. There we also present the WEC (Wellbeing Equality Coefficient) and the Coffee Indicator, two unique metrics that indicate the state and potential of the people in our city.

The Center for Wellbeing, Welfare and Happiness (CWWH) at SSE, in collaboration with the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), has released the first report from the Happy Sports Project. The results reveal how hockey fandom boosts happiness, wellbeing, and community across Sweden.

At the Center for Wellbeing, Welfare and Happiness (CWWH) at the Stockholm School of Economics, we are proud to initiate and organize the Swedbank & Sparbankerna Thesis Awards 2025, in close collaboration with Swedbank and Sparbankerna. The awards encourage students across Sweden to explore vital questions about financial health and wellbeing, welfare and happiness, and to share their insights with society.

The Center for Wellbeing, Welfare and Happiness (CWWH) are happy to organise a research seminar at noon on the 27th of August. In the seminar Fredrik Lange, Assistant Professor at CWWH will present the first findings from the Ice Hockey Project, a CWWH initiative together with the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). The project explores supporter happiness, social connections with other supporters, and overall life satisfaction.  

What do we really know about life after 60? At the Center for Wellbeing, Welfare and Happiness (CWWH) at the Stockholm School of Economics, we wanted to find out. Together with Swedbank and Sparbankerna, we launched the Wisdom Panel — a new national initiative to better understand ageing, quality of life and the lessons people carry with them into later life.

What if we measured success by how people actually feel – not just by how fast the economy grows? That question forms the foundation of a new joint initiative in which the business sector, academia, Region Stockholm and Stockholm Business Region are coming together to boost wellbeing and make it a more integrated part of the city’s future.
