Welcome to an art talk with internationally renowned artist Michael Rakowitz, whose works are currently shown in the exhibition Belonging: Michael Rakowitz and the Mesopotamian Collection at SSE. The talk will focus on his work in relation to topics such as displacement, belonging, and the ongoing forces of colonization. Rakowitz will join us on zoom, December 4th, 15:15-16:30 at SSE in Lecture Hall Torsten, Sveavägen 65.

Welcome to an art talk with Adam Lundberg, PhD-student at Uppsala University, on the topic “Culinary Ghosting and Landscape Re-Placement: Michael Rakowitz and Dar Al Sulh”. This art talk is part of the ongoing program-series around the exhibition BeLonging: Michael Rakowitz and the Mesopotamian collection, currently shown in the school’s atrium. Welcome to the first art talk in the program-series around the ongoing exhibition BeLonging: Michael Rakowitz and the Mesopotamian Collection. Nino Tadaros, SSE Art Initiative’s curator and the curator behind the exhibition, will give an art talk on “Mesopotamia and Belonging”, Friday, November 8, 12.15-13, in the Marie-Louise Ekman Room, 328.

On November 12 to 14 the world famous Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto will come to SSE for a conference and a performance in cooperation with the students in Art Division. On October 29, 12.15 - 13, Pierre Guillet de Monthoux, scientific director at Art Initiative, will give an art talk about Pistoletto and social responsible art.
