Karina Ericsson Wärn

Contemporary Art for Top Design Branding

The key to success in Fashion is a feel for Contemporary Art. Karina Ericsson Wärn, currently heading the Beckman School of design, embodies today's Art & Fashion Nexus. She has done scholarly work in both contemporary art and fashion, run avant-garde galleries, written art critique and lead a special curating program at the Royal College of Arts and Crafts (Konstfack). She is currently engaged in designing education to inspire tomorrows fashion entrepreneurs who will bridge the worlds of art and economy.

Karina gave a talk to an Art World where some main players are Prada, Louis Vuitton and Cartier as well as ACNE or Filippa K. Raf Simons as well as Yves St Laurent dressed us in paintings by the famous artist. Hermes and Gucci are constantly collaborating with world artists. One definition of Luxury seems to be that products are art-based. How will this develop and how can we ensure a management that supports the close connections to art as the main source of innovation and creativity?
