Swedbank & Sparbankerna Thesis Awards 2025 – Financial Health & Wellbeing, Welfare and Happiness

What makes life financially secure, sustainable, and meaningful? At the Center for Wellbeing, Welfare and Happiness (CWWH) at the Stockholm School of Economics, together with Swedbank and Sparbankerna, we want to find out. That is why we are launching two national thesis awards in 2025 to encourage students across Sweden to explore these vital questions and share their insights with society.

We are proud to introduce:

  • The Swedbank & Sparbankerna Thesis Award in Financial Health

  • The Swedbank & Sparbankerna Thesis Award in Wellbeing, Welfare and Happiness

Both awards aim to stimulate student research and interest in fields that shape people’s lives and societies at large. Financial health relates to the ability to manage daily finances, build resilience to economic shocks, and plan for future goals. Wellbeing, welfare and happiness are connected to sustainability, resilience and productivity at individual, organizational and societal levels.

Each award is open to BSc and MSc theses from all academic disciplines, ranging from economics, law, public health, psychology and sociology to business administration, information systems and more.

Deadline: September 30, 2025
Submit your thesis to: cwwh@hhs.se (Subject: “Financial Health Award” or “WWH Award”)
Prize: SEK 25,000 per award

The winners will be announced in November 2025.
