Isabella Strömberg

Isabella Strömberg is an Affiliated Researcher at the Center for Migration and Integration Research (CMIR) at the Stockholm School of Economics, and a social anthropologist at Stockholm University.

Her research focuses on youth, schooling, and integration, examining how everyday institutional practices and relationships shape young people’s experiences of belonging, opportunity, and inequality in Swedish compulsory education.

Drawing on long-term ethnographic fieldwork, she studies how students, school staff, and community actors navigate possibilities and constraints within educational settings characterised by ethnic and socioeconomic segregation. She also teaches courses in anthropology, gender, and qualitative research methods.
