The Tech Initiative helps SSE students become technology-enabled leaders by exploring how technology is reshaping business, organizations, and society. Through talks, seminars, workshops, and bootcamps, the initiative creates opportunities for students to engage critically and constructively with emerging technologies and their implications for leadership, innovation, and decision-making.

FREE at the core
The Tech Initiative support SSE’s educational mission FREE by creating opportunities for students to engage critically and constructively with technologies that are transforming business and society. The initiative explores the business, ethical, legal, and societal implications of emerging technologies while helping participants develop the confidence to navigate uncertainty, make informed decisions, and lead responsibly in an increasingly technology-driven world.
Tech talks
The Tech Initiative organizes talks with entrepreneurs, executives, and thought leaders who share how technology is transforming business and society. These sessions provide students with practical insights into emerging technologies, new business models, and the opportunities and challenges shaping the future economy. By exposing students to a diverse range of career paths, ideas, and role models, the talks aim to inspire the next generation of technology-enabled leaders and innovators.
Tech seminars
Through seminars, debates, and panel discussions, students explore the broader implications of technological change. These sessions bring together researchers and experts to examine the ethical, societal, organizational, and policy questions created by emerging technologies. By encouraging critical thinking and informed discussion, the seminars help students develop the reflective judgment needed to lead responsibly in an increasingly technology-driven world.
Tech workshops
Tech workshops give students the opportunity to experiment with new technologies and develop practical skills in a supportive environment. Through bootcamps, company visits, and interactive workshops, participants explore how technology can be applied in real-world settings and gain hands-on experience with tools, methods, and ways of working used across industries.
House of Innovation
The heart of the Tech Initiative can be found at the House of Innovation, one of Europe’s leading environments for research, education, and entrepreneurship in innovation and digital transformation. Bringing together scholars, students, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry leaders, it serves as a hub for shaping and accelerating the future.
