On December 13, Emilia Cederberg from the Department of Accounting successfully defended her PhD dissertation “The Ins and Outs of ESG: A Study on the Spatialities of Accounting Change”

Milda Tylaitė and Marek Reuter, both currently employed as Assistant Professors at the Department of Accounting, have been awarded the Wallander Scholarship for their dissertations.

On November 29, Peter Aleksziev from the department of accounting successfully defended his dissertation: “Essays on Segment Reporting and Valuation".

On Nov 22nd, Tina Sigonius successfully defended her dissertation: “Accounting Standard-Setting through Adaptation: Models and Contextual Factors in the Case of the Swedish Standard K3”

Niclas Hellman has together with colleagues Jordi Carenys (EADA Business School) and Soledad Moya Gutierrez (ESADE Ramon Llull University) been awarded the Accounting in Europe Best Paper prize 2018 for their paper: "Introducing More IFRS Principles of Disclosure – Will the Poor Disclosers Improve?"

Torkel Strömsten has received 1.86 MSEK from Torsten Söderberg foundation for further development of the Research School in Accounting, FIRE.

On November 30th, Christoph Schneider successfully defended his dissertation: "Open Book Accounting and Resource Interdependencies: The Case of Capital Equipment Sales"

Torkel Strömsten has together with SSE colleague Svenne Junker received a research grant of 1,9 MSEK from Handelsbanken’s research foundation for research on global partnerships for sustainability. Marek Reuter (who will join SSE and Department of Accounting January 1 2019) will also be part of the research project.

The workshop, on August 30-31, offers an opportunity for the meeting of academics and practitioners from all over Europe who are interested in recent developments and trends on financial reporting in Europe, with a specific focus on regulation and harmonization due to recent international developments.
