How can we make SSE happier?
A collaboration between CWWH and SASSE which gathers students and functions as a platform for organizing events and interventions, big and small, to increase happiness for everyone at SSE.
Be it friendly fikas, meaningful movie nights, lovely lunches, or super exciting seminars and field trips, exercising together, or whatever you come up with!
SSE Health Day
SSE Health Day is an annual full-day event that takes place in November, bringing together the SSE community around the themes of health, wellbeing, and sustainable everyday habits. The day is organized by CWWH in collaboration with GWO (Guidance and Wellbeing Office), HR, and SASSE, and is designed to create space for learning, reflection, and shared experiences across students, faculty, and staff.
The program combines inspirational content with interactive and social activities throughout the day. Examples from this year include an Activity Zone in the Atrium, lectures and conversations on wellbeing-related topics, and a movie night as a shared closing activity. In addition, participants could take part in lighter and more energizing sessions such as stand-up comedy or a dance session, creating a balanced program that addresses both physical and mental wellbeing.
SSE Impact Day
The SSE Impact Day is organized by the Center for Wellbeing, Welfare and Happiness at SSE and is an important initiative to make a difference for ourselves and others through practical activities. All employees are encouraged to take this day and make an impact either on their own or by signing up to different organisations that are in need of help. Students and other stakeholders at the school will also be able to take part in the initiative in various ways. Read more about the day here.
Meaningful Meetings
CWWH offers recurring Meaningful Meetings — small group conversations on relevant topics related to wellbeing, work, and society. These meetings are designed to create a space for open dialogue, reflection, and exchange of perspectives in a more intimate setting.
Previous Meaningful Meetings have included participants such as Christian Kinch, Stefan Krook, Golnaz Hashemzadeh, and Michelle Kadir. Depending on the program and context, meetings may also include participants such as Caroline Berg and Ash, including through sessions connected to SSE Health Day.
Happy hour research seminars
CWWH hosts recurring Happy hour research seminars, where researchers present and discuss ongoing work related to wellbeing, welfare, and happiness.
