Earlier this month, CIVICA at SSE welcomed high school students and teachers from Sweden, Italy, and Germany. The visit highlighted strong collaboration between CIVICA’s Inclusion (WP7) and Student Community (WP9) work packages. CIVICA Ambassadors and alumni played a central role in the programme, moderating discussions, sharing their experiences, and leading campus tours, creating a dynamic and welcoming environment for the visitors.

Just last week, the CIVICA Engage Track for the 2026–2027 academic year officially kicked off with an event in the Schumpeter Room. The event saw high participation, with admitted students in attendance alongside faculty, ambassadors, and student representatives. The session introduced the programme structure, including its international opportunities, such as exchanges within the CIVICA alliance and participation in the European Week in Madrid this June.

Students were also introduced to the Engage Track’s academic components, including CIVICA-certified courses and the final “Showcase” assignment, which encourages participants to apply social science perspectives to real-world challenges and communicate their insights to a broader audience.

Continuing the momentum, SSE’s CIVICA team also participated in the Open House on 13 March, connecting with prospective students and sharing opportunities within the alliance.
