Three new Professors appointed at SSE

The Board of Directors at the Stockholm School of Economics has appointed three new professors; Robin Teigland, Hans Kjellberg and Magnus Mähring.

The new professors’ titles and interests of research:


Robin Teigland, professor of business administration, especially strategic information systems management.

Robin Teigland’s research interests reside at the intersection of strategy, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. In particular, she focuses on how the internet, social media, virtual worlds crypto-currency, and other emerging technologies such as blocks chains and 3D printing enable self-organizing communities to create value outside of a firm’s traditional boundaries as well as challenge long-standing institutional structures.

Hans Kjellberg, professor of business administration, especially marketing.

Hans Kjellberg’s research revolves around market change and how actors’ strategic initiatives can influence the development of markets, e.g. the role of marketing. In particular, he has studied the interaction between concrete activities that shape individual economic exchanges, activities through which rules and norms for such exchanges are shaped and activities through which such exchanges are represented as markets.

Magnus Mähring, professor of business administration, especially information management.

Magnus Mähring’s research focuses organizational and inter-organizational transformation processes involving information technology (IT), including digitalization of processes, products and services in the private and public sector.

 The new professors will be conferred at a ceremony in the City Hall of Stockholm on May 21, 2016.
