Did you miss the chance to attend the annual SITE 2022 Development Day conference? This policy brief shortly summarizes the presentations and discussions at the SITE Development Day Conference, held on December 6, 2022. The main focus of the conference was how to maintain and organize support for Ukraine in the short and long run, with the current situation in Belarus and the region and the ongoing energy crisis in Europe, also being addressed.

On 18 December 2022, two mini-vans filled with generators, sleeping bags, powerbanks, outdoor equipment etc, funded by donations to Friends of KSE, left Stockholm on its journey to students and academics at Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) in Ukraine. On December 20, all things were safely delivered in Ukraine.

At the beginning of June, the Center for Sports and Business was invited to the 4th Edition of Swedish Elite Football’s (SEF) Network Arena, a 2-day conference that took place in Berlin, Germany.

SSE Executive Education is climbing Financial Times’ prestigious rankings and is now in tenth place in the world for open programs. For the 22nd year running SSE Executive Education continues to top the Nordic and Baltic rankings.  

On May 2nd, the Center for Sports and Business was invited to a partner event organized by Hammarby Football at Biblioteket Restaurang & Bar where Center Director Martin Carlsson-Wall held a lecture on the topic Life after COVID-19: How to become a winner? for Hammarby’s partners. The day was wrapped up by watching Hammarby’s home game against Malmö at Tele2 Arena.

A century’s worth of history and celebrated architecture meets modern art and the future in tech; The historical premises of the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) are about to get a facelift, thanks to a generous donation from Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.

On April 6th, the Director for the Center for Sports and Business, Martin Carlsson-Wall, had an interesting and interactive art talk with the artist Fathia Mohidin where they discussed how art relates to sports.

On April 1st, the Vice Mayor of Sports Karin Ernlund (C) and her colleague Alice Vestin visited SSE and the Center for Sports and Business. This was a follow-up meeting after the visit at the City Hall on March 8th with President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic.

Between 25th and 26th March, the pre-eminent annual, international sports business conference Scorecard 2022 - Priorities and Potential for a New World of Sport took place in India. The Center for Sports and Business, represented by Martin Carlsson-Wall (Center Director) and Nick Andersson (Director Internationalisation), participated in this summit.
