Sven-Anders Stegare had a successful business career for almost three decades, among other roles as purchasing manager at the SEB. Despite the fact that things were going smoothly at work, the feeling of wanting to do something else has been growing stronger over the past few years. The idea of doing research had crossed his mind several times and he has now made a move on the matter. Meet our PhD-student Sven-Anders!

On 18 December 2022, two mini-vans filled with generators, sleeping bags, powerbanks, outdoor equipment etc, funded by donations to Friends of KSE, left Stockholm on its journey to students and academics at Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) in Ukraine. On December 20, all things were safely delivered in Ukraine.

The Graduate School in Asian Studies will start in January 2023 with funding from the Swedish Research Council.

We are delighted to announce that CSR researchers Ranjula Bali Swain and Susanne Sweet have received a new grant from the Swedish Research Council (Formas) of about SEK 4 million. The grant is for their work with an institutional policy and business practice to support the implementation of circular economy in the textile value chain.

Torbjörn Becker, Director of SITE, was elected as one of the new Fellow members of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (Kungl. Ingenjörsvetenskapsakademien) together with 38 other prominent researchers and experts in the private and public sectors.

During the Fall semester, the third-year students in the RM program work on a company project as part of the Applied Retail Track. In 2022, 12 projects were completed on topics such as platforms, metaverse, q-commerce, unmanned stores and check-outs, private labels, inflation, and sustainability.

At the beginning of June, the Center for Sports and Business was invited to the 4th Edition of Swedish Elite Football’s (SEF) Network Arena, a 2-day conference that took place in Berlin, Germany.

SSE Executive Education is climbing Financial Times’ prestigious rankings and is now in tenth place in the world for open programs. For the 22nd year running SSE Executive Education continues to top the Nordic and Baltic rankings.  

On May 2nd, the Center for Sports and Business was invited to a partner event organized by Hammarby Football at Biblioteket Restaurang & Bar where Center Director Martin Carlsson-Wall held a lecture on the topic Life after COVID-19: How to become a winner? for Hammarby’s partners. The day was wrapped up by watching Hammarby’s home game against Malmö at Tele2 Arena.
