Tech talk: Q&A with Spotify Chief R&D Officer (CPO/CTO) Gustav Söderström - 10 Nov 2022
Gustav and Roberto explored topics such as Spotify’s role in reinventing the music industry and its strategy to avoid being disrupted, Spotify’s product strategy and development, artificial intelligence and the creative industries, and many other topics.
Gustav Söderström is Chief Research & Development Officer for Spotify. He oversees the product, design, data, and engineering teams at Spotify and is responsible for product strategy. He is a startup seed investor and also has been an advisor to Tictail since 2013 and was formerly an advisor to 13th Lab (acquired by Facebook’s Oculus).
Before joining Spotify in 2009, Gustav Söderström was Director of Product and Business Development for Yahoo! Mobile from 2006 to 2009. In 2003, he founded Kenet Works, a company that developed community software for mobile phones and served as the company’s Chief Executive Officer until it was acquired by Yahoo! in 2006. He holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
