On June 13, members of the Center for Sports & Business at the Stockholm School of Economics were invited to the inauguration of the KTH Center for Sports Technology, KTH Royal Institute of Technology's newest research center.

Representatives from the Center for Sports & Business gathered together with over a hundred people in the premises of KTH Innovation for the opening of the KTH Center for Sports Technology.

Opening remarks were delivered by Anders Söderholm, the President of KTH, Anders Larsson, Vice President of the Swedish Olympic Committee, as well as Peter Mattssin, National Sports Confederation Elite Sports 2030.

Technology to decode, predict and enhance human movement, innovative exercise machines, heart rhythm-synchronized running and ice rink technology were four of the approximately twenty project that were presented during the inauguration

Later on, the Center for Sports & Business participated as an exhibitor at the fair that followed, talking to entrepreneurs, industry experts as well as students at KTH that were interested in the operations of the Center for Sports & Business at SSE.

The Center for Sports & Business has maintained relationships with KTH for many years, starting with the inception of the Swedish Olympic Academy in 2017, a foundation that started as a collaboration by the Swedish Olympic Committee, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Karolinska Institute and the Stockholm School of Economics.

The KTH Center for Sports Technology

The Center matches all forms of sports, from elite activities to everyday exercise, with world-leading research at KTH in the engineering sciences. The aim is to improve training, design better equipment and infrastructures, increase participation, and to facilitate sustainable and attractive events.

The Center acts as KTH’s contact point for all research issues related to sports and technology, as the innovation hub to create value and impact from research in sports, and as a consolidator of fundamental scientific contributions that may find applications in the sports domain.
