Essentially, my mind is engaged in an endeavor to understand how, why and when cooperation among humans with some kind of purpose is possible. Due to my background in business administration, effectiveness and efficiency issues are some of the aspects studied . They are, however, interpreted in a broad sense (including, for example, the well-being of organization members or participants). This obviously leads me to a variety of theoretical, as well as empirical, considerations. My main focus is on leadership and managerial work. However, areas such as organization and culture are also of interest, as well as theories on the formation of human behavior in general, along with theories on society and reality as such.
Currently, I am engaged in a research project concerned with cluster initiatives. Ten VINNVÄXT-initiative (sponsored by the Sweden’s Innovation Agency, VINNOVA) are engaged in collaborative in-depth studies of strategic issues facing the initiatives as well as the leadership measures taken to cope with this issues. Characteristics of the initiatives, and the critical phases that now and then emerge within or around an initiative, are also being analysed and subject to modelling and theorizing. In this particular project, financed by VINNOVA, I work jointly with my colleague Dr Ingela Sölvell. The project started in December 2013 and are currently schedule for an ending in December 2015.
