SSE Alumni Club

Handelshögskolans i Stockholm Kamratförening (referred to in English as the SSE Alumni Club) has been dissolved as an independent organization since November 2024. The decision was made by the members at two consecutive annual general meetings. The remaining assets of the association, a cash reserve of approximately 5 million SEK, have been transferred to the student union. There, the capital has been placed in a separate fund managed independently of the student union's other assets. A management council, consisting of the former board members of the SSE Alumni Club (Günther Mårder, Filip Goldmann, and Jörgen Linse), oversees the financial investments and also decides on annual disbursements to the school to support the organization of social activities for alumni. The size of the disbursement is estimated at approximately 200,000 SEK but will be carefully balanced to ensure long-term dividend capacity. Smaller grants may also be provided to the student union to support activities that bring students and alumni together.

The background to the dissolution of the association is the school's significant investment in alumni relations. Today, there is a dedicated department within the school's organization responsible for activities and relationships with SSE alumni. For this reason, a parallel independent organization with alumni as its main stakeholders has contributed to ambiguity. Therefore, the members of the SSE Alumni Club voted to dissolve the association and instead focus on supporting the school's alumni work financially. This provides the school with greater opportunity to prioritize and professionalize its relationship with alumni.
