LF Research Foundation new partner to the Stockholm School of Economics
Through the partnership, a platform is created for knowledge exchange between LF Research Foundation’s operations and SSE’s world-class research. The collaboration includes guest lectures, research dialogues, and student projects, focusing on key topics within insurance, financial systems, and sustainable development.
– LF Research Foundation represents a model where local anchoring and long-term perspectives are central. At a time when many parts of the economy are characterized by increasing complexity and rapid change, questions of resilience and societal stability are becoming increasingly important. This partnership allows us to combine practical experience with world-class research on these issues, says Lars Strannegård, President of the Stockholm School of Economics.
– For us, the collaboration with SSE is an opportunity to deepen our understanding of how customer-owned organizations can contribute to societal stability in a time of high complexity. Through dialogue with leading researchers, we gain access to perspectives and analytical tools that can inform strategic decisions well before changes become widely visible. At the same time, through our local presence across Sweden, we can help translate research into practice and identify issues that are relevant from a societal perspective in different parts of the country, says Christofer Laurell, Research and Development Manager, LF Research Foundation at LF Research Foundation of Länsförsäkringar Alliance.
A partnership focused on knowledge exchange
Länsförsäkringar, consisting of 23 local and customer-owned companies, provides a unique infrastructure for translating research into practice. Through its presence in communities across Sweden, the partnership can contribute to turning evidence-based knowledge into tangible societal impact.
At the same time, the insurance industry and the financial sector are undergoing a significant transformation, as climate change, technological development, and geopolitical uncertainty reshape the risk landscape. In this context, the need for actors with both strong societal anchoring and a long-term perspective is increasing.
By combining LF Research Foundation’s local presence with SSE’s research excellence, the partnership aims to contribute to solutions that strengthen both business and society.
