Stefan Ingves appointed "Senior Fellow" at Swedish House of Finance

Stefan Ingves is now a senior fellow at the Swedish House of Finance after serving as the head of Riksbank for 17 years.

Former Riksbank governor Stefan Ingves has been appointed as "Senior Fellow" at the Swedish House of Finance. Ingves, who served as the head of the Riksbank for 17 years from 2006 to 2022, will officially begin his assignment on November 1.

Ingves’ role as Senior Fellow include teaching as well as advising in topics intersecting monetary policy, macroeconomics, and finance. Swedish House of Finance director Bo Becker expressed optimism regarding Ingves' experience benefiting researchers and students.

"Stefan Ingves has a long and distinguished career as a regulator and policymaker. His experiences and perspectives are of great value to researchers and students the Swedish House of Finance and the Stockholm School of Economics will benefit from Stefan Ingves' presence for an extended period of time. We especially hope to benefit from his presence to inform research on financial stability," Becker said.

With a strong connection to the Stockholm School of Economics, where he completed his master's and PhD, Ingves expressed his eagerness to return to the world of academia.

"After many years of practical policymaking I hope my experience can be of help both to researchers and students at the Swedish House of Finance. It feels good to be back at my alma mater, the Stockholm School of Economics,” he said.
