SSE is expanding the campus area through the acquisition of Studentpalatset

The Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) has signed an agreement with Akademiska Hus on the acquisition of the building “Studentpalatset” (the Student Palace) and are thereby expanding the campus area. Studentpalatset opens up new opportunities to create an inspiring environment for education and research.

"This is a unique opportunity for SSE and we are extremely happy to be able to expand our campus over Observatorielunden. Studentpalatset is a fantastic building, and we look forward to developing it into an active and vibrant environment for knowledge and learning", says Lars Strannegård, President of the Stockholm School of Economics.

Studentpalatset is located on Norrtullsgatan in Vasastan in Stockholm, close to Odenplan and transportations like the metro, commuter trains and buses. From the school's main building on Sveavägen 65, Studentpalatset can be reached easily by just crossing Observatorielunden by foot. The property consists of about 1,200 square meters of land and a five-story building of approximately 4,500 square meters.

"Studentpalatset has been an appreciated place for studies for many people, and the fact that it is now the Stockholm School of Economics that takes over the ownership is very gratifying. In this way, the building will still be a place for studies that will benefit students", says Magnus Huss, Market Area Director at Akademiska Hus.

The Stockholm School of Economics will take over the property on April 1, 2022.
