How AI is Influencing ICA's Ways of Working
Johanna Sparr, Data Analytics and Transformation Lead at ICA Sverige, began the workshop with a presentation about ICA's adoption of AI, introducing the frameworks that guide this transformation. She discussed the difference between analytical and generative AI and why both are relevant for ICA's future, making the students well prepared for the task at hand. Johanna also explained how AI can support ICA's vision”to make every day a little easier“, highlighting how the company needs to apply AI across their three target groups: customers, employees, and stores & pharmacies.
A common theme for all groups was hyper-personalization and the idea that AI can create more tailored experiences for ICA's customers. Ideas ranged from transforming ICA's app into a smart daily companion that personalizes food and lifestyle choices, to developing AI in-store navigation and voice-assisted shopping. The groups also emphasized that to stay competitive, ICA’s customer-facing AI solutions must deliver real value, not just technology for its own sake.
A big thank you to Johanna for sharing her expertise, and to Emilie Goldensohn Fuchs and the ICA team for organizing such an inspiring and forward-looking workshop!
