Great and fully booked event with Mr. Oscar Stenström, Sweden’s main negotiator for NATO membership. A much appreciated behind-the-scenes talk on how the historic shift in Sweden’s security policy came about after the fast deterioration of our security environment following the invasion of Ukraine. Mr. Stenström’s assessment is that Sweden would have been NATO member by now if it had not been for burnings of the Koran in the spring but still believes that the country will join the alliance before the end of year. He also emphasized the importance of working with allies and partners around the world - and of understanding different perspectives.
