Strengthening Sweden's total defence: Launch of the Utvecklingskommuner concept
As part of this effort, the Center for Security and Resilience (CfSR) at Stockholm School of Economics is proud to launch the new "Utvecklingskommuner" concept. Bringing together the Center for Security and Resilience, the Center for Municipality Governance, and the Center for Sports and Business, the initiative will collaborate with four pilot municipalities - Stockholm, Linköping, Borlänge, and Nykvarn.
The aim is to create a test platform where cutting-edge research meets local practice, helping municipalities strengthen preparedness, governance, and resilience in the face of today’s growing security challenges. As noted in the op-ed, municipalities are on the frontlines, keeping essential services running and safeguarding citizens wellbeing.
Through Utvecklingskommuner, SSE and its partners will ensure that knowledge, innovation, and collaboration are put into action - contributing to a stronger, more resilient Sweden.
