Russian history is marked by oppression, with the war in Ukraine serving as a painful reminder. However, in the last 170 years, there have been moments of hope for the country. SSE student and Applied History course alumn, Isak Axelson explores three periods of liberalization in Russia that provide valuable lessons.

On March 8th, on International Women's Day, the Center for Sports & Business held an event on the topic of future proofing Swedish sports - how to become a more inclusive and competitive sport nation? The event featured prominent speakers from the world of sports, media, business and politics, including Petra Noreback, Karin Torneklint, Åsa Edlund Jönsson, Linda Wijkström, Caroline Strand, as well as Jonus Bartholdson.

Women make up only 20% of researchers working in finance departments at leading universities and their representation decreases with seniority, data from the Swedish House of Finance shows. Sweden has the second highest female representation after Australia, but on the professorial level, it ranks third.

Klara Strömberg received a diploma for the best essay during the Applied History course in 2021. In the interview, Klara discusses her main findings and the impact the course had on her outlook, and shares her current pursuits in pursuing a master’s degree in economics and international economic policy.

The Swedish Gender Equality Agency's thesis competition was organized for the first time in 2021. The content related criterion for participation in the competition is that the essay contributes to knowledge about gender equality policy or social development based on the ambitions of gender equality policy.

The prize was established in 1983 as a tribute to Professor Gunnar Myrdal on his 85th birthday. The Myrdal Prize is awarded each year by Swedbank for the best article of the year in the Swedish Economic Association's journal Ekonomisk Debatt.

On Friday, February 10th, representatives from AIK, Djurgården and Hammarby football clubs visited the Stockholm School of Economics to jointly hold a panel discussion regarding the issue of managing a sports club.
