Tech talk | From cost to value: How technology is changing global food systems - 2 Oct 2025
In this tech talk, Johan Jörgensen and Anders Sewerin from Sweden Foodtech will present and discuss one of the largest transformation processes on planet Earth: the transformation of our global food systems. This transformation is driven by technology, data, and innovation, where topics such as AI, new insights into biotech, and data-driven business models are fundamentally changing the landscape - from one where these factors played a relatively small role to one where they are central.
As a result of these technological shifts, the cost of food is about to be replaced with the value of food. Though these processes are long and sometimes slow, they are nevertheless unavoidable. What will happen when food changes? Who will stand to win, and who will lose?
Anders Sewerin and Johan Jörgensen are both alumni of the Stockholm School of Economics.
Johan Jörgensen is one of the founders of Sweden Foodtech and advises nations, cities, large corporations, and entrepreneurs on strategic business development in the transforming food sector.
Anders Sewerin brings extensive experience from the traditional food and retail industry, having worked at Unilever and served as Country Manager of Coca-Cola in Sweden. He has also advised leading Nordic food and retail corporations as a Partner at Booz Allen Hamilton. In addition, Anders is the co-founder of the Smaka på Stockholm food festival and Sweden Foodtech. He was also one of the initiators of the SSE Center for Sports and Business, where he now serves as Director of Strategy.
