Tech seminar | The changing role of professionals in the age of AI
Professional service firms play an important role in the knowledge economy as thought-leaders and knowledge brokers. The professionals working there draw on their deep expertise and experience to act as trusted advisors, helping clients with strategically important issues. As such, they hold a status-laden position as experts in society. But what will their future role be like when AI can perform increasingly complex tasks, and when clients can interact directly with AI tools instead of human experts? Drawing on her research, Frida Pemer will discuss how AI can reshape not only the professional service industry and the future work of professionals, but also our ideas on who - or what? - to turn to for expert advice.
