Building Smart Villages: expanding markets through open innovation - 4 May 2018

Smart Villages is unique compared to many others and is based on the concept of open innovation. A Smart Village is “a community empowered by digital technologies and open innovation platforms to access global markets.

Speakers:

Professor Solomon Darwin is the Executive Director of the Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation at the Haas School of Business and is an established expert in the field of Open Innovation and Open Business Models. He is an adviser to senior executives of multinationals and government leaders in the emerging world, and an international speaker recognized by peers, executives and students with numerous awards for his innovative leadership and passion for teaching. For the past two years, Professor Darwin has been working with the Indian Government to prototype Smart Villages. In addition, he has been developing new business models to expand markets in which both global brands and village cottage industries can form strong ecosystems.

Professor Sarah Jack is the holder of the Jacob and Marcus Wallenberg Chair for Sustainable and Innovative Business Development at the Stockholm School of Economics.
