Step into history with World War II with Tom Hanks - Secret Screening at SSE. The series is a landmark new documentary on the HISTORY Channel narrated by the Academy Award–winning actor. This event offers a rare sneak peek to experience an episode from the series before a global release on 26 May, 2026.
This series explores WWII from Germany's invasion of Poland through the atomic age, examining pivotal battles, wartime leaders like Churchill and Roosevelt, and the human cost of total war. This event features an episode on the intelligence war in the conflict - and is hosted by the SSE's Dr. Matthew Hefler, an intelligence historian and an expert contributor to the episode.
The screening is hosted by the Stockholm School of Economics' Center for Statecraft and Strategic Communication, the AJI Intelligence and Security Programme, and Hearst Networks EMEA - and is open to students and invited guests.
