Courses at CBL

Courses at the Center for Business Law are offered within the framework of the Bachelor, and Master curriculums at the Stockholm School of Economics, and executive education at the SSExecutive Educations. 

Research and teaching at the Center focus on legal areas relevant to business. Research is mainly directed toward the following areas: 

  • Company law (law of associations)
  • Commercial law, including transport law, sales law, contract law, credit and insolvency law, and international trade law  
  • Tax law, with a focus on the taxation of enterprises  
  • Market law and regulation of market, including competition and antitrust law, and public procurement law. 

The legal methods used are mainly traditional but are strongly influenced by European law and international instruments, such as treaties, trade agreements, and multilateral and bilateral agreements. Comparative law methods are often used, and studies of foreign legal systems form an important part of current research. 

A particular focus of the research is the interaction between law and economic theory within the following areas: 

  • Company law
  • Market law, competition and antitrust law 
  • Contract law
  • Tax law.
