International field trips

As an integrated part of the program, we do three international field trips to SSE Riga, Latvia; National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore; and Stanford University in California, United States. In addition to your MBA degree from SSE, successful completion of the programs will earn you certificates for: Doing Business in Asia, NUS, and Data Driven Analytics, Stanford Center for Professional Development (SCPD). The international field trips are our way to enhance your learning and global outlook. For us, a fundamental part of the MBA education is the value of different perspectives. First-hand experience of diverse markets and applying theories and models in a variety of contexts is an essential part of the learning. During our campus weeks in Singapore and Silicon Valley you are given courses tailormade for our SSE MBA program, and we combine in-class sessions with company visits.

The class starting in December 2023, will go to our sister school SSE Riga, in Latvia, during campus week 2, in January 2024. The focus of the week will be International Economics, Sustainability and Business Law.

During the fall of 2024, one campus week will be held at NUS, Singapore. On-campus learning will be combined with company visits and guest speakers. The focus of the week is Doing business in Asia, Business Strategy and developing skills for leading international companies and creating an international career. This field trip is a part of the modules Value Creation and Leading Global Business. You will earn a certificate for the course Doing business in Asia given by NUS.

Our third international field trip will travel in the Spring of 2025 to Stanford University, located in the heart of Silicon Valley, CA in the United States. Students will participate in a 3-day educational program called Data Driven Analytics: Understanding and Applying in a Business Context. The program, delivered by the Stanford Center for Professional Development (SCPD), will be taught by Stanford faculty and industry guest speakers. In addition to the SCPD program you will learn about the Silicon Valley Ecosystem, how to create highly innovative teams and meet a variety entrepreneurs. Upon successful completion of this program, you will earn a Certificate of Completion from the SCPD.

Our international field trips may be located in areas and/or countries that require permits or visas in order to enter. Since our participants come from many different countries it is solely the participant’s responsibility to find out what is required in their specific case, and if necessary, to apply for and to undertake any actions needed in order to obtain such permits or visas.
