Join us for Academic Pride 2025!

We are once again proud to join the Academic Pride collaboration during Stockholm Pride 2025. This year, SSE and SASSE are hosting the Pride parade pre-party for all participating academic institutions.

While parts of the world have become more welcoming in the past decades, very few countries have comprehensive legal rights that fully protect and support LGBTQ+ people. The current state of LGTBQ+ rights worldwide reveal significant inequalities, and we are seeing an increase in more regressive, hostile policies.

In a time where LGBTQ+ rights are becoming more polarized, we believe that it is crucial to stand up for human rights (for everyone!).

Everyone is welcome to attend the Pride House Seminar (exact date will be confirmed, more information to follow) and to join the Pride Parade on August 2.

  • The Academic Pride Pre-Party starts at 10:00 and continues until about 12:30.
  • (Vegan) Light food and alcohol-free drinks will be served in a first come, first served manner.
  • If you have allergies we will do our best to accomodate you, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee it.

Materials will be provided so you can pride-ify yourself before the parade!

Register here for the Academic Pride Parade Pre-Party.

About Academic Pride

Academic Pride is a collaboration around Stockholm Pride between several of Stockholm's higher education institutions and their associated student unions. Its purpose is to highlight the importance of LGBTQIA + issues in higher education, both in terms of research and teaching and in terms of inclusive work and study environments.

Academic Pride 2022 is arranged by Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Marie Cederschiöld University, the Stockholm School of Economics, and Stockholm University together with the student unions of the various schools, including Medicinska Föreningen's LGBTQ association Queerolinska at Karolinska Institutet, the Student Union's (THS) LGBTQ+ organisation Speqtrum at KTH, the equal treatment council at Marie Cederschiöld University, the Rainbows association at the Stockholm University Student Union (SUS), and the Student Association at the Stockholm School of Economics (SASSE).
