Carl Bennet and the Marianne & Marcus Wallenberg Foundation join forces to sponsor a new professorship at the Stockholm School of Economics. This enables internationally acclaimed Martina Björkman Nyqvist to continue her important research on development economics and children’s health and education as the new Carl Bennet & Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Chair in Economics.
Abhijeet Singh awarded 1.5 million Euros by the European Research Council to study social inclusion in Indian schools

Abhijeet Singh, Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Affiliated Researcher at Misum, has been awarded a Starting Grant from the European Research Council for a project studying social inclusion in private schools in India. His research project is one of only twelve in Sweden to receive the grant this year.
Mark Voorneveld awarded MSc Teacher of the Year

Mark Voorneveld, Associate Professor of Economics at Department of Economics at SSE, has been awarded MSc Teacher of the Year by the Education Committee, SASSE. Mark was awarded for being an incredibly engaging and thorough teacher that truly provided the students with guidance and care.
Celine Zipfel awarded for outstanding pedagogical achievements

In August, Celine Zipfel, Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics at SSE, was awarded for outstanding pedagogical achievements at SSE. Celine was awarded for her work in redesigning an MSc course on Development Economics with great success. The course was highly appreciated among students, covering a wide range of topics and giving a holistic view of the field.

SSE professor serves on Minister for Finance's economic council

Robert Östling, Professor of Economics at SSE, is one of six members on Finansministerns ekonomiska råd (the Minister for Finance's economic council). The economic council will provide Sweden’s Minister for Finance, Mikael Damberg, with policy advice on current economic and scientific issues.
