This year’s Economics Nobel Laureate Jean Tirole visited SSE on Friday, December 12.

SSE Professor Tore Ellingsen held a much appreciated speech to Professor Tirole, the 2014 laureate of the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel during the Award Ceremony.

Christoph Barmeyer visited us December 8-11, 2014 and together with Katharina Pilhofer and Laurence Romani developed a chapter on synergies between cross-cultural and diversiy management. The chapter will be published in German in the volume edited by Petia Genkova and Tobias Ringeisen: "Diversity Kompetenz"

On the 2nd of December 2014 SITE organized the 8th SITE Energy Day devoted to market adaptations and policies necessary to address the green transition.

Length of life is increasing in most populations and it is necessary to raise employment to finance pension payments in the future. As a Wallenberg Academy Fellow, Johanna Wallenius will investigate the effect of government programs on individual decisions, particularly employment.

On the 28th - 29th of November, 2014, SITE hosted the first ASWEDE conference on development economics.

Eva Hagbjer from the Department of Accounting will defend a Ph.D dissertation entitled “Navigating a Network of Competing Demands: Accountability as Issue Formulation and Role Attribution across Organisational Boundaries” on December 10. The defense takes place in room 720 at 13:15 on Wednesday December 10. The discussant is Professor Inger Johanne Pettersen, Trondheim Business School.
