Highlights & photos: Clearing the path to recovery

Summary

On October 15, 2025, the Swedish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce in Scandinavia (SUCC) and the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) hosted “Clearing the Path to Recovery: The Economics of Humanitarian Demining and Ukraine’s Reconstruction” at the Stockholm School of Economics. The event underscored humanitarian demining as a prerequisite for reconstruction and introduced the Global Alliance for Peace and Development (GAPD) initiative. A high-level panel discussion moderated by Anna Anisimova (SITE) covered current demining efforts and best practices, the economic/social/environmental impacts, and opportunities for cross-sector collaboration and international business engagement. Special guest: Margot Wallström; speakers included representatives from MSB, FOI, UDA, Sida, and Disarmament Solutions.
